Nick Guthry

Growing up, Nick enjoyed the Dune and Ender's Game series as well as the Horatio Hornblower books by C.S. Forester and everything by J.D. Salinger. He is grateful to his grandmother for teaching him how to read and to his mom for keeping books around the house by authors such as Dostoevsky, Joseph Heller, Tolkien, Joseph Conrad, and Graham Greene. His biggest literary influences are F. Scott Fitzgerald, Patricia Highsmith, and Gabriel García Márquez.

Nick studied Philosophy at school, which is how he learned how to shift paradigms. Since then has worked primarily as an editor, teacher, and private tutor. Other past jobs include clerk, tree planter, mattress recycler, house cleaner, and bicycle courier. He has also worked in a kimchi factory.

Outside of writing, juggling a football is the closest he comes to achieving grace.

He lives in Fukuoka, where he longs for wealth, fame, and more to say for himself.
